Pinay Travel in Baclayon Church

This trip happened few years ago, when this church was still standing majestically complete.

I was amazed looking around in Baclayon Church cause it's one of the oldest architecture I had visited.

This church was built at the year 1596! And I feel so  fortunate cause I get to see a place like this. So imagine my sadness when the earthquake hit Bohol and one of the casualties is this church.

Philippine Travel and Dolphin Watching

One of the highlights of our sea tour in Bohol is dolphin watching!

I'm excited to this activity, I love animals and I get to see dolphin in their natural habitat.

After almost an our of boat ride, we stopped in the middle of the sea. From afar, I can see other boats too.

Then, our tour guide pointed dolphins jumping from water! Not just one but a group of more than ten dolphins!

A Sun-Kissed, Salt-Sprayed, Barefoot Adventure Through Bohol’s Dreamy Slice of Paradise

After conquering Bohol’s land wonders, the Chocolate Hills, the tarsiers, the centuries-old churches, we knew it was time to trade our walking slippers for flip-flops, our sunscreen for cologne, and our land legs for sea legs.

We stayed for the vibes.Enter: Virgin Island, Bohol’s floating postcard, tidal magic trick, and Instagrammer’s ultimate playground.

Tucked between Panglao and Balicasag Island, Virgin Island is that rare kind of paradise that literally changes shape with the tide.

At low tide? A dazzling, crescent-shaped sandbar emerges blindingly white, powdery soft, stretching like a natural runway into the turquoise sea. We ran across it barefoot, squealing like kids, taking 800 photos per minute (no regrets).

At high tide? The sandbar disappears, swallowed by gentle waves, turning the island into a cozy, palm-fringed jewel surrounded by shallow, swimmable waters. And guess what? You can still walk through it, knee-deep in warm, crystal-clear ocean, fish darting around your ankles, laughter echoing over the waves.

It’s like nature’s own mood ring and we got to experience both sides.

We came for the sandbar.

Filipina Travel in Butterfly Garden

Butterfly Garden in Bohol

Filipina Travel in Butterfly Garden

Let me take you back to a trip that still lives rent-free in my heart, the kind of journey that didn’t just change my scenery… it changed me.

This was the trip where I:
✈️ Took my very first airplane ride, not solo, not scared, but laughing with my best friends beside me.
🚌 Survived the epic and slightly chaotic Cebu-to-Bohol land-and-sea odyssey complete with detours, ferry ride, and roadside and street breaks.
🌸 And finally… stepped into a living rainbow at the Bohol Butterfly Garden where time slowed, colors danced.

This wasn’t just a vacation.

This was my coming-of-age travel moment, messy, joyful, awe-filled, and utterly unforgettable.

Just a short drive from the famous Chocolate Hills, the Bohol Butterfly Garden is more than just an attraction, it’s a sanctuary. A living poem written in wings and sunlight.

As soon as we stepped inside, the air wrapped around us like a warm hug… and then flutter, flutter, flutter, butterflies. Floating like living confetti in every color imaginable, electric blue, sunset orange, emerald green, and wings so translucent they looked painted by fairies.

Not in a scary, “ahhh-get-it-off-me” way but gently. Curiously. Like they knew we were guests in their kingdom. We had them perched on our faces, hair, nose, shoulder, my friends capturing the moment like I’d just won an Oscar.

Why this trip lives in my soul? It wasn’t just the butterflies.

It was the firsts.
The freedom.
The friendship.

Friends in Butterfly Garden

I remember standing in the garden, surrounded by wings, thinking

This trip taught me that magic doesn’t need special effects.

Sometimes, it’s just a first flight.
A long van ride with your favorite people.
And a garden where butterflies land on your shoulders like whispered blessings.

Bohol Butterfly Garden

Bohol, you beautiful, winged wonder and thank you for giving me a memory I’ll carry forever.

And to my friends who were there? Let’s never stop chasing butterflies, literal and metaphorical.

The world is still full of them.
And we’re just getting started.
