Girl Travel Tries Bolinao Kayaking
Bags packed, playlist queued, snacks stocked, we pointed the car north and let the open road lead us to Bolinao, Pangasinan: the sleepy coastal gem we’d heard whispers about.
This isn’t just a beach resort. It’s a portal to a mangrove-lined, tree-canopied, “what-is-this-place?!” river that winds deep into the wild heart of Bolinao. And guess what? They let guests kayak through it.
We set off in bright plastic kayaks, laughing, splashing, taking selfies, total vacation vibes.
The river starts calm. Gentle. Sunlight dappling through the trees. Fish darting beneath us. Birds chirping like they’re narrating a nature documentary.
Turns out, hanging over the water were branches armed with nasty, needle-sharp thorns!
Scratches on our arms. Tiny cuts on our shoulders. And the biggest, most ridiculous grin on our faces.
We howled with laughter. Took several photos. And immediately volunteered to go next. Spoiler: We hugged the center of the river. Learned fast.
