Moon Shots in Batangas

Moon Shots in Batangas

While at Batangas I had the chance to take some moon shots and I must say that it was very hard.

Of course, I had researched before I went there. I had made a list of configuration I would use. For almost a hundreds shots I took, only few turned out I liked.

On several nights I took my shots, I did enjoyed the learning process. Not every shot will turn out good and sometimes I need to change my camera's setting.

But what I like most is I also got to enjoy the darkness, stars and moon..

Filipina Travel in Bulog Dos

Filipina Travel in Bulog Dos

Bulog Dos is a small sandbar island located in the Calamianes Islands, Palawan. It is a popular tourist destination, known for its white sand beaches, clear waters and coral reefs. The name Bulog Dos means "two pillows" in the local language, referring to the two sandbars that make up the island.
The island is located off the coast of Busuanga Island, and can be reached by boat from Coron Town.

Batangas Beach Silhouette

Batangas Beach Silhouette

This is the first I went to beach in Batangas, considering my Mom used to live there and me having my summer vacation in there almost every summer. It is a private resort of my Uncle's friend, we stayed there for the whole afternoon and evening.

What I really like about this place is the sunset. With bluish and orange hue sky, the clouds passing by, the sun setting, with mountains and ships passing by, Batangas is really beautiful.

Lunch at Calumbuyan Island

Lunch at Calumbuyan Island

When we finally got in the island we were so excited, the place is so beautiful and we did a lot of things, tour the island, swim, snorkel, took shots. Its no wonder that we were so hungry!

We woke up early on the third day of our Coron trip because it would take hours to get into Calumbuyan Island. During the boat ride, we spent a lot of time looking along the view, we also had time to slept.

Lunch at Calumbuyan Island was a feast. Our tour guide was so thoughtful.. We were so delighted with what they serve to us! We also taught our friend on how to use hand on eating or food trip, we were in an island afterall.

Conquering Mount Tapyas

Conquering Mount Tapyas

Let’s be real: “Conquering Mount Tapyas” sounds heroic.
Poetic, even.
Like something you’d whisper dramatically before sunset, hair blowing in the wind, boots laced with destiny.

The truth?
It’s 700 STEPS.
700.
Of.
GLORIOUSLY.
BRUTAL.
UPWARD.
TERRAIN.

But here’s the magic, we didn’t just climb it.
We documented it.
Every. Single. Hundred.
In Palawan’s stairway to heaven.”

📸 The Photo Diary: A Visual Journey Up Mount Tapyas

📷 Step 100 — “We Got This!” Energy
Smiles? Bright.
Hair? Perfectly tousled by the breeze.
Legs? Fresh.
Confidence? Sky-high.
We posed like we were on the cover of Wanderlust Monthly.
“Is 700 steps even a thing?” we laughed.
Famous. Last. Words.

📷 Step 200 — “Still Vibin’… Right?”
Still smiling. Still posing.
But… is it getting warmer?
“Nah, it’s just the tropical sun being friendly!”
We adjusted our caps. Took selfies with extra peace signs.
Denial? Strong.

📷 Step 300 — The Towel Era Begins
Sweat? Officially activated.
Handkerchiefs and towels emerged like survival gear.
Poses became shorter.
Breaths? Slightly heavier.
“It’s just… a warm-up,” someone panted.
We believed them. Barely.

📷 Step 400 — The Slowdown
Pace? Snail-approved.
Conversation? Reduced to grunts and motivational quotes.
“One step at a time…”
“The view will be worth it…”
“Why did I wear jeans?!”
Photos? Fewer. But we still managed a thumbs-up. Barely.

📷 Step 500 — Thirst Mode: Activated
Water bottles? Emptied like sacred offerings to the mountain gods.
Lips? Parched.
Energy? Dwindling.
We started bargaining with the universe:
“Just let me make it to the top and I’ll never complain about stairs again. Ever.”
(Promise broken approximately 3 days later.)

📷 Step 600 — The Snail Crawl of Glory
Legs? Jelly.
Morale? Low… but stubborn.
We moved like sleepy turtles with backpacks.
No more posing. Just… surviving.
Each step felt like a tiny victory.
“We’re almost there… right? RIGHT?!”

📷 Step 700 — PARADISE. UNLOCKED. 🌅
And then…
We turned the final corner.
Dropped our bags.
Gasped.
And just… stood there.

The view?
Worth. Every. Drop. Of. Sweat.

Panoramic. Breathtaking. Soul-stirring.
Coron’s islands scattered like emeralds in turquoise waters.
The wind? Cool. Forgiving. Triumphant.
We didn’t just reach the top
we earned it.

Kayangan Trekking

Yes, we arrived at Kayangan Island.

But the famous lake is few trek away!

You still need to climb a quaint stone stairs before reaching Kayangan Lake.

But since we are excited, we are all smiles while climbing!

And finally, the beautiful lake.
