Butterfly Garden in Bohol

Filipina Travel in Butterfly Garden

Let me take you back to a trip that still lives rent-free in my heart, the kind of journey that didn’t just change my scenery… it changed me.

This was the trip where I:
✈️ Took my very first airplane ride, not solo, not scared, but laughing with my best friends beside me.
🚌 Survived the epic and slightly chaotic Cebu-to-Bohol land-and-sea odyssey complete with detours, ferry ride, and roadside and street breaks.
🌸 And finally… stepped into a living rainbow at the Bohol Butterfly Garden where time slowed, colors danced.

This wasn’t just a vacation.

This was my coming-of-age travel moment, messy, joyful, awe-filled, and utterly unforgettable.

Just a short drive from the famous Chocolate Hills, the Bohol Butterfly Garden is more than just an attraction, it’s a sanctuary. A living poem written in wings and sunlight.

As soon as we stepped inside, the air wrapped around us like a warm hug… and then flutter, flutter, flutter, butterflies. Floating like living confetti in every color imaginable, electric blue, sunset orange, emerald green, and wings so translucent they looked painted by fairies.

Not in a scary, “ahhh-get-it-off-me” way but gently. Curiously. Like they knew we were guests in their kingdom. We had them perched on our faces, hair, nose, shoulder, my friends capturing the moment like I’d just won an Oscar.

Why this trip lives in my soul? It wasn’t just the butterflies.

It was the firsts.
The freedom.
The friendship.

Friends in Butterfly Garden

I remember standing in the garden, surrounded by wings, thinking

This trip taught me that magic doesn’t need special effects.

Sometimes, it’s just a first flight.
A long van ride with your favorite people.
And a garden where butterflies land on your shoulders like whispered blessings.

Bohol, you beautiful, winged wonder and thank you for giving me a memory I’ll carry forever.

And to my friends who were there? Let’s never stop chasing butterflies, literal and metaphorical.

The world is still full of them.
And we’re just getting started.
